The National Mining Union’s upcoming national congress is characterized by bribery and extortion.

An election of their executive management is the big problem, as bribery is the order of the day and where the current president, Piet Matosa, and secretary general David Sipunzi no longer talk to each other.

Sipunzi is opposed by Mbuyseni Hibana while Joseph Montisetsi stands against Matosa.
