A 58 year old man of Roodepan was arrested by the Galeshewe Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit members in connection with the rape of a 72 year old woman. It is alleged that the elderly woman was raped on 4 November 2019, along Hammerkop Street in Roodepan at about 13:00.
The victim immediately alerted the police about her ordeal and a manhunt for the rapist`s search was activated.
The suspect was later arrested in Roodepan. The suspect is expected to appear before the local Magistrates court soon. Police investigation continues.
