A 38 year old suspect who was sought by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation for the alleged murder of Sergeant Nontombi Hope Manie (39), has been arrested on Tuesday 1 october 2019, in Kuruman.

The suspect’s pictures were widely circulated on various media platforms recently resulting in the public giving information of his whereabouts. The Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit arrested him during a joint operation with the Flying Squad, Kuruman police and the local neighbourhood watch.

Sergeant Manie (39), who was attached to Kuruman SAPS succumbed to her untimely death on 2 March 2019, after she was reportedly stabbed on the neck with a sword at a social event in Surrender Hill after an alleged guests fight broke out.

The accused is expected to appear at the Kuruman Magistrate’s Court today to face a charge of murder.
