The Hawks’ Organised Crime unit closed down an upmarket brothel in Kimberley on 19 December 2016. Consequently, the alleged brothel owner, Nonsukiswa Porcia Dlamini (36) from KwaZulu-Natal and Nontumelelo Precious Sonqishe (32) from the Eastern Cape were arrested.

The premises is said to be rented from one of the local estate agency and it is not known at this stage if the owner knows about the house being turned into a brothel. Investigations continue.

Pornographic DVDs, condoms and several cell phones which were allegedly used in communicating schedules with their clients were seized. At this stage none of the women arrested has claimed to have been trafficked and subsequently they were arrested for running the brothel.

The two women have been remanded in custody when appeared at Kimberley Magistrates court on Tuesday, 20 December 2016. Their case was postponed to the 28 December 2016 for bail application.
