Twenty ‘cell phone tower’ batteries recovered, Campbell

The Campbell Visible Policing members received information about a suspected stolen vehicle on 6 April 2018, at about 00:30. Members reacted swiftly and followed up the information.

The vehicle in question was spotted and a person fled and abandoned a white Isuzu bakkie. The bakkie was searched and police found 20 cell phone service provider batteries.

The batteries and the bakkie have been confiscated. K9 and local police have been activated to trace the suspect. It is suspected the vehicle was used in the commission of offences relating to cell phones around Pixley Ka Seme Cluster.

Police investigations are continuing.
