Taxi driver arrested with R7k worth of Khat, Kimberley

The Members of Kimberley SAPS Flying Squad, K9 and Public Order Policing unit stopped a Taxi traveling from Johannesburg en route to Cape Town. The police followed the suspicious looking vehicle that immediately tried to evade them. When the vehicle was eventually stopped and searched, police discovered 228 bundles of Khat valued at R7000-00.

This happened on Monday, 13 July 2020 at about 01:45 on the N12 just outside Kimberley and the driver was arrested for possession of drugs.

The 58-year- old male should be appearing in the Kimberley Magistrates Court soon.

Police investigation continues.
