A 47-year-old male was arrested by the police in Rietfontein for possession of stolen livestock on Monday, 09 January 2023.

Police members were conducting farm visits when they came across the suspect.

He was in possession of five 5 sheep that he attempted to sell at the nearby farms.

During preliminary investigation it was discovered that the sheep were brought in from Namibia into South Africa. The investigations on the case are continuing.

The vigilance of the members were applauded by the Station Commander of Rietfontein, Captain Mthuthuzeli Block and he warned the public to reject and report stolen goods as buying such goods is a criminal offence.
