The Kuruman Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit (STESU) arrested a 43-year-old man and recovered suspected stolen cattle valued at approximately R150,000.

The arrest follows the theft of 24 cattle reported by a complainant on 19 December 2025. The livestock was stolen from Deerwaard village in Bothithong between 12 and 16 December 2025.

On 6 January, STESU investigators located nine cattle and three calves at a nearby cattle post. The complainant identified the animals as his property.

The suspect was arrested after being unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for possessing the cattle.
