Stock theft thieves arrested in Vryburg

On Friday, 22 July, Vryburg Stock Theft Unit apprehended two men aged 28 and 37 for stock theft.

The suspects’ arrest came after police discovered four cows at an auction held in Kuruman in the Northen Cape.

The four cows were allegedly stolen in Moretele village near Pudimoe.

It was established after questioning of the suspects that the cows were stolen in Moretele village, then handed to the suspects’ associates in Dithakwaneng village near Vryburg to facilitate the sale in Kuruman.

Vaaltar FM was used to urge live stock owners to come forward to identify the cows.

The live stock was positively identified yesterday.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Taung Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 25 July on a charges of stock theft.
