On 23 August 2021 at approximately 13:30, members of the Upington Flying squad received information of a blue Isuzu bakkie alleged to be transporting sheep on the R360 road from Witdraai towards Upington.

Approximately 50 km from Upington, they intercepted the bakkie and upon searching the vehicle, they also discovered three sheep inside. Information revealed that the sheep were allegedly stolen from the Avalion farm.

The owner also positively identified the stolen sheep as her stock.

Witdraai SAPS is Investigating a case of stock theft and the two male suspects aged 38 and 26 will soon appear in the Upington Magistrates court.

The bakkie was seized as it was used in the commission of a crime and the value of the sheep is estimated at R6000-00.
