SAPS operation nets drug dealers, house breakers, Hartswater

An ad-hoc crime intelligence driven operation yielded several successes in Hartswater and surrounding areas.

On Friday, 19 January 2018 from 5am, the Hartswater Crime Intelligence Unit, Tactical Response Unit and K9 Units followed up on information and pounced on drug dealers and suspects involved in various crimes.

Police raided a house in Hartswater and arrested two men aged 28 and 29 for dealing in drugs after they were found in possession of drugs including Tik with an estimated street value of R10 000 on the premises.

Three other male suspects were arrested for a recent house breaking at business premises that took place at a butchery in Jan Kempdorp. The Police found several of the alleged stolen items such as meat pans, meat scales and other goods in their house in Valspan, Jan Kempdorp.

All the mentioned suspects will be appearing in court soon.

Three shopping bags containing dagga was also found stashed in a veld in a residential area in Warrenton and no suspects were arrested in this regard. The dagga has an approximate street value of R3000.

These operations will be held on a continuous basis to ensure that criminals are brought to book and that no impunity is granted to those who do not want to stay within the ambit of the law.
