On Friday, 22 October 2021 at about 13:20, a 22-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of a suspected stolen cell phone and robbery in Kuruman.

The Communication Officer at Kuruman SAPS, who was conducting patrols in Beare Street, noticed people chasing a man and shouting that suspect robbed someone of a cell phone.

Warrant Officer Letsapa chased the suspect and be managed to apprehend and arrest him in nearby bushes.

The suspect was found in possession of a stolen black Samsung cell phone valued at R5000-00.

A while later, a woman who claimed to have been the victim, came to Kuruman SAPS Station Commander, Brigadier Kenneth Baloyi and identified the stolen cell phone as her property.

The suspect was also charged for robbery and will soon appear in the Kuruman Magistrates court.

The victim applauded and commended Warrant Officer Letsapa for quick his swift response in apprehending the suspect.
