An 18 year old male suspect of Postmasburg was arrested by police on 8 November 2019, in connection with the rape of three boys, one aged 8 and two boys, both aged 9.
It is alleged the three children were playing in the street, not far from the suspect’s shanty, on Saturday 2 November 2019, when they were called to the suspect’s shanty. The children were allegedly sexually assaulted at knife point.
The victims were allegedly raped over a period of time. Any child who might have been sexually molested by the suspect is requested to make contact with the Investigating Officer, Warrant Officer Bob of Postmasburg Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit on 082 454 3643.
The suspect is expected to face three counts of rape before the local Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 11 November 2019 pending further police investigations.
Parents are advised to make sure that children are supervised at all times.
