On Monday, 25 November 2019, the 12-year-old female victim was on her way home when she was accosted by the unknown adult male in Hartswater.

The man dragged the victim to his house where he forced her to smoke drugs and raped the girl. The victim managed to escape the following day and informed her family.

The suspect was arrested the next day and bail was denied.

The accused however received R1000 bail on 30 September 2021.

David Agiseng Sebaile was found guilty on 30 August 2022 and sentenced to life imprisonment on 9 September 2022 in Warrenton Regional Court.

The Provincial Head for Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit, Brig Nicky Mills commended D/Sgt Dibolelo Sehako from the Hartswater FCS unit for a job well.

The SAPS will continue to enforce the law and leave no stone unturned in ensuring that perpetrators of Gender Based Violence (GBV) are behind bars where they belong.
