Rape and sexual assault of young girl, father handed life sentence, Port Nolloth

The SAPS welcomes the life sentence that was handed down to a father for raping his biological daughter in the Port Nolloth Magistrates Court on 8 April 2022

On 3 April 2020 police received a complaint of a 14-year-old girl that alleged that she was raped and sexually assaulted, from the age of nine by her biological father.

The accused was arrested on 4 April 2020, police opposed bail and he remained in custody for the duration of the trial.

On Friday, 8 April 2022 the Port Nolloth father received life sentence for rape and a further 10 years direct imprisonment for sexual assault.

The accused was further declared unfit to possess a firearm and his name will be recorded in the National Register of Sexual Offenders.

The Provincial Head for Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences(FCS) units , Brig Nicky Mills thanked D/Cst Fransisca Louw from the Port Nolloth FCS for the tireless effort and sleepless nights that ensured that no impunity is granted to the perpetrator of this heinous crime.
