Two suspects were arrested by members of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit members at Prieska in the Pixley ka Seme area. The suspects were arrested following the rape and murder of a 33 year old woman.
It is reported the woman was found on the morning of 29 June 2019, in Prieska with head injuries and naked. She was rushed to Prieska Hospital where she later succumbed to injuries. The suspects are expected to appear before the Prieska Magistrates Court on 1 July 2019, facing charges of rape and murder.
The Provincial Head for Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Units in the Northern Cape, Brigadier Nicky Mills commended the Investigating Officer, Constable Swarts from Prieska for tirelessly making sure that the suspects are arrested.
