The determination by the members of the South African Police Service in the ZF Mgcawu District led to a major dagga bust at Nakop Border Post in the early morning hours of Sunday, 25 June 2023.

The members of Upington Border Police selected a truck for a secondary inspection during an operation at the border post.

Upon searching the truck that was departing from RSA to Namibia, seven boxes were discovered stashed among others within the load that was in transit.

They searched through the boxes and 141 parcels containing 144,340kg of dagga to the estimated value of R3 608 500.00 were found.

A truck driver was arrested for drug trafficking and will be appearing in court soon.
