The Keimoes police made a major breakthrough by confiscating illegal cigarettes with a street value of over R2 Million Rand. On Wednesday, 29 November 2018 at about 13:00, members of Keimoes Crime Prevention Unit received information about illegal cigarettes being stored at a shop in Keimoes.

Upon arrival at the mentioned premises the members found 218 boxes of stashed cigarettes in the storeroom. The shop owner could not any valid invoice or legal document regarding the origin of the cigarettes and therefore two adult male suspects were arrested.

“The Keimoes Station Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Barney Visagie applauded the swift reaction by members for their vigilance and sterling efforts. The dedication and hard work made this breakthrough possible.” The Upington DPCI Hawks will be investigating the matter.
