R100k worth of stolen copper cables recovered, Kimberley

The active visible policing in Kimberley led to the arrest of two men in possession of suspected stolen goods. On Monday, 14 October 2019 at about 14:40 the police followed up on information about two suspicious looking men burning copper cables, in a veld close to Hull Street in Kimberley.

The police found and arrested the two men with the help of the complainant. The approximate street value of the alleged stolen copper is R100 000.

The Acting Station Commander for Kimberley SAPS, Colonel Belinda Rikhotso commended the SAPS members for a job well done and thanked the community for their role played in this superb arrest. The suspects aged 20 and 34 will appear in the Kimberley Magistrates’ Court soon.

The investigation continues.
