Postmasburg businessman robbed, 4 suspects arrested, Kathu

Two men aged 30 and 33 were arrested in Kathu for robbery at approximately 12:30 on 28 July 2022.

It is alleged that a businessman was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money while putting cash in his car’s boot at a local garage in Postmasburg.

It is further alleged that the four male persons drove in a red Polo sedan in the direction of Kathu.

After receiving information about the robbery, Kathu police Station Commander activated a team comprising of Kathu Visible Policing, Kuruman K9 Unit as well as Rhino Security Company.

Within two hours the collective team managed to successfully intercept the red Polo with two occupants.

The team searched the vehicle resulting in the recovery of cash upon which the two occupants were arrested and charged for robbery.

At approximately 18:00 on the same day, their two accomplices were arrested at Promise land outside Kuruman after they were found in possession of an undisclosed amount of money.

The Acting District Commander of John Taolo Gaetsewe, Brigadier Johnny Besnaar applauded the collective team for their swift response and their collaborative efforts which led to the arrest of the four suspects and the recovery of the stolen cash. This collaboration is a clear indication of partnership policing in the fight against crime. Together we can do more.

All four suspects will appear in the Postmasburg Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of robbery.
