The Kimberley Flying Squad, Upington Highway Patrol and Postmasburg police clamped down on three suspects for alleged armed robbery in Postmasburg.

A 40 year old business man was allegedly accosted and robbed undisclosed amount of cash, that which he had withdrawn from the bank in Postmasburg on the day of the incident.

The robbery happened on the corner of Main Road and Kudu Street in Postmasburg, on Tuesday, 30 April at about 15:00. The suspects fled the scene with the undisclosed amount of cash and were arrested shortly after the police followed up information. The information led the police to a house in Boitshoko Location, Postmasburg where they found the suspects hid in the ceiling of the house.

A vehicle which was used in the commission of crime was seized.

Two of suspects were found with serious gunshot wounds, while the other suspect found with a minor gun wound. Suspects with serious gun wounds are receiving medical treatment in hospital under police guard and the other suspect is in police custody.

The fourth suspect is still at large, and the police have launched an intensive man-hunt.

The robbed money has not yet been recovered.
