On 23 june 2019, at about 14:00 a 33 year old woman came to Wrenchville police station to come and report that her 37 year old ex-boyfriend went to Ganap village and took their 11 year old daughter without her permission.

According to the report he was on his way to Rustenburg with the child. Furthermore as per the report the boyfriend was driving a silver Polo with GP registration and at that time of the report the Polo might still be around Kuruman.

Kuruman Crime Prevention Unit, Kuruman POP, Kuruman Dog Unit, JTG Trio Task Team and Wrenchville SAPS members who were busy with operational duties were all immediately activated to look for the silver Polo. The Polo was found on N14 road.

As per the complaint an 11 year old girl was found in the car. The members further searched the car and an unlicensed firearm was found. The man was arrested for being in possession of unlicensed firearm. He will appear before the local magistrates’ court soon.

The Station Commander of Kuruman Brigadier Kenneth Baloyi applauded the members for their outstanding and marvellous work. He further warned those criminals who are in possession of unlicensed firearms that they will very soon be brought to book.
