On Wednesday, 27 September 2023 the Kuruman Regional Court handed down a 15 years’ direct imprisonment to 27-year-old Moeketsi Nkoane for the murder of 32-year-old Onewang Edwin Booysen in January 2022 at Loopeng village outside Kuruman.
It is alleged that the accused stabbed the deceased with a knife for money he owed him. The suspect was arrested and he remained in custody until he was sentenced.
The John Taolo Gaetsewe District Commissioner, Major General Johnny Besnaar applauded the investigating officer, Sergeant Khumoetsile Setlhauno for the meticulous investigation. He also further commended the NPA, the Department of Justice and Home Affairs for their respective contributions made during the investigation and prosecution of the case.
