The SAPS welcomes the 15 years’ imprisonment sentence that was handed down to murder accused, Aubrey Nel (35) in the Phillipstown Regional Court on 12 April 2022.
On 23 April 2021, at approximately 13:30, the stepfather, Aubrey Nel and his stepson had an altercation which resulted in the fatal stabbing of Duwayne Snyers (15).
The incident occurred in Riemvasmak, Philipstown and the accused was immediately arrested. He remained in custody until his sentencing on 12 April 2022.
The Pixley Ka Seme Cluster Commander, Brigadier Nomana Adonis lauded the investigating officer, Detective Constable Herald Saunders for his meticulous investigation that led to the incarceration of the accused.
