Mothibistad man gets 15 years for stoning his brother to death

The police welcomes the sentencing that was handed down to a Mothibistad man for the murder of his brother on Tuesday, 12 February 2019. Tshepiso Manchonyane (27) was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for stoning his brother on 4 June 2017, in Maruping village in Kururan.

On 4 June 2017, at about 02:00, Tshepiso returned home and an argument broke out between him and his brother Boitshepo Manchonyane (30). Tshepiso then started stoning Boitshepo with bricks.

The victim was admitted to Batlharos Hospital and died on 5 July 2017. The accused was arrested the day after the incident and was found guilty. He was sentenced on 12 February 2019 in the Mothibistad Magistrate Court for the murder.
