On Sunday evening 11 August 2019, the life of a 4 year old child was tragically ended after argument between the father and the mother of the child in Hash Valley, Kakamas. It is alleged that the father and the mother of the child got involved into an argument earlier in the evening. After the father stabbed the mother with a knife she succeeded to flee with two of the children to her sister’s house from where they managed to call the Police. The suspect however got hold of the one child, a 4 year old boy.

On their way to the complaint members of SAPS noticed a house that was burning in Hash Valley Kakamas. Upon their arrival at the burning house, members of the community already tried to put out the fire. It was later discovered that the 4 year old child was in the burning house and that he was killed in the fire.

The father of the child fled from the scene and is still at large. He is wanted for questioning by the Police at Kakamas.

The Police in Kakamas are pleading to the community to assist them with any information that can lead to the tracing of the father of the deceased as well as any other information that may be relevant.
