Ricardo Arghillus Absalom (37) was handed a life term imprisonment by the De Aar Regional Court last week, for raping an 8-year-old girl.
The accused was linked to the crime through DNA that was collected at the crime scene. Credible witness testimony of the girl and outstanding investigation done by the investigating officer secured the accused’s conviction.
The Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Peter Risimati Shivuri commended the investigating officer, Sergeant Tebogo Sehako for securing a life imprisonment for the accused person.
