Man gets 15 years imprisonment for hijacking

On 17 October 2018, the Kuruman Regional Court sentenced Obakeng Nare to 15 years imprisonment for hijacking that occurred in Mothibistad.

The incident took place on 22 May 2017. According to the information Nare accosted and stabbed the victim with a sharp object before hijacking his vehicle.

A thorough investigation by Sergeant Pontso Mathule and John Taolo Gaetsewe Trio Task Team led to the recovery of the vehicle and the arrest of Nare.

Nare has since been in custody and he was denied bail. He was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for hijacking.
