A 39 year old male driver handed himself over to the Hartswater police after a horrific hit and run accident. On Saturday 23 February 2019, at about 21:30 an alleged hit and run took place on the N18 approximately 10km outside Hartswater.
The collision allegedly decapitated the unknown male. The Provincial SAPS Search and Rescue Team and Hartswater SAPS was searching for the head of the deceased since Sunday, 25 February 2019 and found it this afternoon at about 15:00 in a nearby canal.
Although information surrounding the accident is still sketchy, police are requesting that anyone with information regarding the happenings please contact Lt Col Isaac Sereetsi at 082 494 4212.
The police are investigating a culpable homicide and the suspect should be appearing in Court soon. The investigation continues.
