The four men and a woman accused of the savage farm attack on the Brand family appeared in the Hartswater magistrate’s court on 30 July 2020. They did not apply for bail and have been remanded in custody. The case was postponed to 14 August 2020, pending further investigation.

The farm murderers were arrested after and extensive manhunt and search by police, local farmers and the community after the Brand family were very violently assaulted, brutalized and eventually very cruelly murdered on Sunday 26 July 2020, in in the Magogong agricultural area, near Hartswater, in the Northern Cape province of South Africa.

The elderly parents, Danie Brand (83) and his wife Breggie (73) were brutalized, assaulted, stabbed and were then hung up in a tree and left to die.

The daughter Elzabie (54) was also stabbed numerous times and forced to walk into the open field, in Takaneng Village, in Taung, where her body was found. After her agonizing walk, with continued brutalization, her head was bashed in with rocks.
