KIMBERLEY – The Northern High Court sentenced 31-years-old Reuben Motsie to life imprisonment for the murder of his girlfriend Aldine Titus (25).

On 19 June 2019, a lifeless body of Aldine was found at home in Kanoeneiland with multiple injuries and it was discovered that she was in an altercation with her boyfriend Reuben who assaulted her grievously with different objects including a broom stick, fork and an iron pipe. He left her motionless and fled the scene.

The police launched a manhunt and the investigating officer, Sgt Pule Lichakane traced and arrested Motsie in Welkom, Free State.

The sentence was passed down in Upington on Wednesday, 2 August 2023. The investigating officer was commended for ensuring that GBVF perpetrators are brought to book.
