Kuruman court sentences murderer to life imprisonment

On Friday, 6 August 2021 the Kuruman Regional Court sentenced 37 year old Keena Donald Gift Mashalane to life imprisonment for the murder of 34-year-old Boyfriend Simkhada in September 2017.

It is alleged that during the time of the incident the accused was involved in an argument with the deceased’s which resulted in altercation between the two. The accused then shot at the deceased who later died in the hospital due to the gunshot wound he sustained.

The Kuruman Station Commander, Brigadier Kenneth Baloyi commended the investigating officer, Sgt Gabaitumele Solomon Tikane, for his excellent investigative work which led to the incarceration of the accused.

Brigadier Baloyi also applauded NPA and the Department of Justice who worked closely with Sgt Tikane, to ensure that justice is served.
