A 26-year-old man from Kimberley has been sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Kimberley Regional Court following his conviction for rape.

The Frances Baard District Management welcomed the sentencing, attributing the outcome to the exceptional investigative work of Detective Sergeant Neo Enoch Noge of the Kimberley Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit.

The case was initiated after the 17-year-old victim reported the incident at the Kimberley Police Station on Friday, 01 March 2024. Detective Sergeant Noge was subsequently assigned to investigate the matter.
