On Saturday 11 January 2020, at about 06:35 a 36 year old man was arrested for being in possession of stolen property in Kathu. After a tip off from the community, Kathu crime prevention members Sgt Eiman, Constables Jantjies and Canchibato went to a certain house and conducted the search.

All the goods which were discovered were linked to a house breaking and theft case which was reported in Kathu. The value of the items recovered is R9000-00.

The cluster Commander of JTG Major General Johan Bean commended Sergeant Eiman and the two Constables Jantjies and Canchibato for their dedication, passion, commitment and hard work.

General Bean also urged all second hand goods dealers to keep record of all people who come to their place and sell. Thus, will enhance the police to trace those who sell stolen goods.

The suspect will appear before the Kathu magistrate court on Monday, 13 January on charges of being in possession of stolen property and house breaking and theft.
