On 29 August 2017, the 24 year old female victim was sleeping in her home when the accused broke down the door and raped her, before fleeing the scene. The accused, Victor Tshepo Maputle (27) was arrested on the same day at 14:15 and appeared in court for first appearance on 30 August 2017.
On 6 November 2019, Maputle was found guilty on both charges and received 12 years’ imprisonment in the Galeshewe Regional Court.
