Galeshewe Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit arrested a 32 year old man of Galeshewe in connection with the rape of a 59 year old woman. On 1 January 2020, the victim was reportedly asleep when the suspect broke into the house through a window. The victim was allegedly raped and suspect fled.
The victim reported her ordeal to the suspect’s aunt but unfortunately fell on deaf ears. She then went home to sleep.
The suspect returned again and allegedly raped the victim. The victim managed to escape after the suspect felt asleep.
The police were alerted and rushed to the scene, by then the suspect had fled.
An intensive search for the suspect was immediately launched by the Galeshewe Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit. The suspect was arrested on 3 January 2020, in Galeshewe and will be appearing before the Galeshewe Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 6 January 2020 facing charges of rape and housebreaking.
