After the horrific triple murder of the Brand family in Hartswater on Sunday 26 July 2020, police have recovered a Sahara laptop and Samsung J5 cellphone which were pawned at a shop for R400-00 at Vaaltyn village in Taung area. Police also recovered a handbag at one of the suspect’s home (Khomotso Mpumlwana). The handbag contained different kind of cards including drivers licence, identify document and shop cards.

The recovered items belonged to the members of the Brand family who were brutally murdered in Hartswater.

The bodies of Danie Brand (83) and his wife Breggie (73) were found after they were attacked in their home and kidnapped along with their daughter Elzabie (54) on Sunday 26 July 2020, in the Magogong agricultural area, near Hartswater, in the Northern Cape province of South Africa.

The five arrested suspects will be appearing before the Hartswater Magistrates court next Thursday, 13 August.

Police will be monitoring the court appearance proceedings.
