The determination and relentless efforts of Sgt Moilwa, Sgt Kumbi and Const Jacobs attached to Barkly West Crime prevention paid off when they apprehended and arrested one of four rape suspects on 18 October 2021 at 16:20 in Morape Street in Mataleng in Barkly West.

The arrest follows after the trio were tasked to assist Galeshewe FCS to trace four suspects who allegedly raped a 21-year-old female victim on 1 October 2021 at approximately 02:30 inside a toilet in Mataleng.

After numerous attempts to trace the suspects failed, the trio with the assistance of the community were able to trace and apprehend one of the suspects.

The 42-year-old male suspect will soon appear in the Barkley-West Magistrates court, while the search continues for the remaining three suspects.

The Provincial Head of the FCS Unit, Brig Nicky Mills commended the members for their relentless response in apprehending the suspect. He also applauded the community for their valuable assistance in locating the perpetrator. No stone will be left unturned in tracing the other suspects.
