The Kimberley based Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team assisted by Kimberley Crime Intelligence and Flying Squad arrested two suspects aged 33 and 37 respectively.
Their arrest follows the arrest of a 37-year-old, George Barnet Peters, the alleged mastermind in East London on 31 August 2022, for attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms as well as ammunition.
Peters has subsequently appeared in court and his case postponed to the 7 September 2022 for formal bail application in Kimberley.
The arrest took place at Kimberley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 2 September 2022, when the duo were attending the court appearance of their alleged gang leader.
The suspects are expected to appear before Kimberley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 5 September 2022.
