The Galeshewe Regional Court recently imposed a 15 years’ prison sentence to 31-year-old, Thabiso Abrahams for the murder of his girlfriend on Sunday, 26 June 2022.
The Court heard that the accused assaulted his girlfriend with a broom stick until it broke and continued stabbing her on both her legs.
The neighbours found her lifeless body and notified the police.
The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, welcomed the Court outcome, citing that the police will leave no stone unturned in preventing violence against women and children.
She further commended the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Chrisna Von Wielligh for securing the harsh conviction.
