The Northern Cape Provincial Tracking Team successfully arrested a 25-year-old male suspect in Bloemfontein on Monday, 28 July 2025, marking the end of a near three-year manhunt.
The suspect, who had been evading authorities since 2022, was wanted in connection with an attempted rape case registered in Barkly West. Acting on credible intelligence regarding his whereabouts, the tracking team located and apprehended him in Grassland, Bloemfontein.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect is expected to be transferred to the Northern Cape to face charges in the Barkly West Magistrate’s Court in the coming days.
