A 45-year-old former traffic official is expected to appear before De Aar Magistrate Court on Friday, 27 August 2021 on charges of fraud.
It is alleged that in August 2020, the suspect who was employed at Emthanjeni Traffic Department in De Aar, issued and authorised a driver’s license to a potential client without her being tested as prescribed by the Road Traffic Act.
Summon to appear in court against the suspect on fraud charges was served by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation team on Tuesday, 6 July 2021.
