Four men are expected to apply for bail in the Groblershoop Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, for allegedly hacking to death 28-year-old Richardo Spandiel.
Jandre Meyer, 20, Johan Bedefort, 22, Phakise Mothle, 22 and Hendrick Epenaar,31 appeared in the Groblershoop Magistrate’s Court on Monday in connection with Spandiel’s death over the weekend.
“It is alleged that an argument and a fight broke out and the four hacked a 28-year-old Ricardo Spandiel to death with an axe. The incident happened over the weekend, in Dankie –debo Street, Groblershoop. The suspects were arrested shortly after the gruesome atrocity and were charged with murder,” Northern Cape police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana said.
The men were remanded in the police custody after their brief appearance.
