The vigilance of Prieska police led to the arrest of four suspects after they were allegedly found in possession of suspected stolen goods.

It is alleged that on Friday 16 August 2019, the shift on duty noticed a suspicious looking vehicle while conducting patrols in town. The vehicle with four Male occupants was stopped and searched. Housebreaking implements were found in the car and occupants could not give prove of ownership and one of them offered to pay the police to let them go.

Further investigation revealed that one of the suspects is wanted for housebreaking in Upington. All the goods recovered; a grinder with spare blades, hammer, crowbar, hand gloves, and chisel in a black carry bag were confiscated.

The Station Commander of Prieska, Lieutenant Colonel Bennet Mbombo applauded the members for their vigilance and swift reaction.

All four suspects are expected to appear before Prieska Magistrates’ Court on 19 August 2019. Police investigations continue.
