On 12 June 2019, members of the Flying Squad and CIG, Warrant 0fficers Romein and Jacobs, Sergeants Rasekoai, King and Sinombe, Constables Davids and Rasego followed up on information about dealing in drugs at Diamond Park shanties in Kimberley.

Two shanties were searched and the members arrested four suspects, aged 25; 26; 28 and 56 respectively at one of the shacks for possession of mandrax tablets and dagga pokes.

They also confiscated cash. hey continued searching and arrested another three persons aged between 25 and 30 and recovered 5 bundles of fencing with 31 steel poles which were allegedly stolen from Petra Diamonds in Green point.

They also found a laptop and a Nokia cell phone for which no proof of ownership could be provided for. The suspected stolen goods is valued at approximately R42 000.00.

The suspects will be appearing in the Kimberley Magistrate’s court soon on charges of possession of drugs and possession of suspected stolen goods.
