Police management welcome the life sentence that was handed down to a 32-year-old father for raping his 11-year old biological daughter. The victim was reportedly raped between 2016 and 2017.
The victim was threatened by her father and raped on several occasions. The victim later reported her ordeal to one of her father’s colleagues.
The suspect was arrested on 25 April 2018, and remained in custody until the case was finalized.
The accused was found guilty on 6 March 2020 in the Carnarvon Circuit Regional Court and sentenced to life imprisonment on the same day.
The investigating officer Sergeant Floris Fritz from Carnarvon Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit was commended and applauded by Brigadier Nicky Mills, the Provincial Head of FCS, for his excellent work and for making Carnarvon a safer place.
