The local community newspaper, Kalahari Bulletin, reported that an elderly couple from Keimoes were attacked on Thursday, January 5 in their home.
According to the newspaper, one suspect assaulted the 67-year-old woman and demanded money. Quick thinking on the part of the elderly woman saved their lives. She managed to get her gun and shoot the robber.
The police were alerted and the suspect was taken to Dr. Harry Surtie-hospitaal under police guard and will appear in court, once released from the hospital, on charges of armed robbery.
