A Kimberley businesswoman, Rikkie Alsemgeest, 67, was assaulted by four black terrorists in Els’s farmhouse with Piet Els (86).
They were tortured and burned with an iron.
Els was in a serious condition at the hospital while Alsemgeest was taken into the high care unit.
In his response, FF Plus’s leader in the Northern Cape says that the question always comes to the fore if it is “ordinary” or political crime ” In this regard, Mr. Els’s status as prominent landowner around Kimberley should be taken into account.
“Politicians in the Sol Plaatje municipal council have regularly referred to Mr. Els with regard to expropriation of land without compensation, as a way to obtain land for cheap residential development.
“The details about the attack are unknown, but it is a pity that politicians with irresponsible statements could possibly prepare the ground for such attacks,” said Dr. Boshoff.
