KIMBERLEY – The efforts of the Police to eradicate drugs within our communities continue to be yet visible as yesterday mandrax tablets were confiscated and suspects arrested.

It is alleged that the Crime Prevention Unit of Hopetown Police Station under the command of Captain SG Pelzer, operationalised intelligence information which led them to the discovery of 75 mandrax tablets hidden between the roof plates of the suspect’s shanty. An undisclosed amount of money was confiscated and the suspect was also arrested for dealing in drugs.

On another separated incident, the police in Wrenchville near Kuruman arrested a male suspect for dealing in drugs after he was found in possession of tik and mandrax while during stop and searches.

All arrested suspects are expected to appear before the Magistrates’ Court respectively.
