The John Taolo Gaetsewe (JTG) Drug Task Team consisting of the SAPS Highway Patrol, K9 unit, Kathu and Kuruman Crime Prevention units followed up on information regarding drug dealing in Kathu.

On Wednesday, 7 March 2018 at about 20:45, a 37 year old male was stopped and searched in a street, where police found drugs on him. Further information led police to his house where they found Dagga, Khat, Rocks, Crystal Meth and Mandrax to the estimated street value of R120 000.

Police also confiscated some goods allegedly utilized for the manufacturing of drugs.

“The JTG Cluster SAPS Commander, Major General Johan Bean lauded the task team for a job well done. He also commended the public for their assistance in this regard, as this displays partnership policing at its best”.

The suspect should be appearing in the Kathu Magistrates’ Court soon, on a charge of dealing in drugs. The investigation continues.
